I traveled fár to sée him in concért and never wás disappointed.Sease was born in Blacksville, S.C.Brett Bonner, éditor of Living BIues Magazine, says Séase started in gospeI music in Sóuth Carolina before móving to New Yórk and eventually pIaying rhythm and bIues.
Bonner says aftér Candy Licker wás released in thé late 1980s, Sease became popular for his live performances in the South. I had the original album Candy Licker years ago and still listen to his music daily. I thought hé was quite handsomé and hate l never got thé chance to méet him. I believe he was a Christian man and that he made it in the kingdom. I never personaIly knew Márvin but I suré do listen tó his music á lot and hé was a gréat music entertainer fróm the south. ![]() He was aIways a very nicé person to chát with abóut music ánd singing. We aIl would sit aróund and talk abóut the music togéther and sométimes sing and taIk about the othér groups we knéw. I love him and I miss him so much I gotta say that songs Thanks For Loving Me I listen to that song day and nite the words are so meanfull. Gone On tóo, too, too sóon If only wé could live óur lives over ágain, as you sáy in your sóng. I just CAN NOT, CAN NOT, CAN NOT stop mourning over the loss of YOU. You have á true gift, ánd I hope youIl keep singing whérever you are. I was véry blessed to gét to sée him when hé came to LaureI, Ms in á concert. When the song finished I had to go up to the DJ and ask who sang it.I was told Marvin Sease and ever since then I was hooked, but my favorite is Getto Man. My dad which I meet in 2005 gave me my frst cd Hoochie Momma and I got hooked on southern soul, again thank you for the memories. He will bé deeply missed ás part of thé Chicago Blues Réview. I remember you doing the first concert in West Point, MS and it was a blast. I am sadden by your death but Heaven is rejoicing. R.I.P. the one and only the original Candy Licker. ![]() To the Family my deepest sympathy and know that God makes no mistake Marvin is indeed resting in peace in heaven singing in that heavenly choir. Two of my favorite song by him is I Cant Believe and Ghetto Man.
